I just need to keep myself from eating them all at once. This was my first time ever making candy – so I hit Google to learn more about Fruit Pectin, which I’ve never worked with before. I went with powdered Sure-Jell Premium Fruit Pectin, 1. The other tip I found was with powdered add it and bring it to a boil, the liquid would be added after the ingredients are brought to a boil. One addition to the recipe as written, I added a bit of dried orange peel to the sugar coating.

Also, I think I may try to find a small stainless steel circle cookie cutter to help get the proper shape next time rather then using a knife. Otherwise, really good and simple homemade candy – even for beginners! This recipe did not work for me at all. First, do you use liquid or powdered pectin?

I have two pans of mint and orange sloshy mess. My grandfather loved these and spearment leaves. I wish he were still with us so I could make them for him. I love orange sliced candy, can’t wait to give this a try. My grandad would take me to the store when I was little and we would eat these with a little bottled coke.

Thanks a bunch for this recipe! This is my 7 year olds favorite candy,AND color too! I was buying these and putting them in his lunch as a special treat last year. Now I can make them for him anytime. Here is a 5 for you!
